“One of our pressing priorities is to manage our finances within the Association. Larry brings financial expertise through his professional positions and experience serving on the ALA Executive Board. His ability to listen to members and thoroughness in examining issues will be strengths in this leadership role.”
“Larry Neal is an excellent candidate for ALA Treasurer. He has served on the ALA Executive Board, served as PLA President and is the director of a successul library district with independent finances. He is a principled and pragmatic leader who would provide transparent and clear financial information to the ALA membership and be an engaged and effective member of the Executive Board.”
“Larry Neal is an exceptional candidate for ALA Treasurer. He has the professional skills, breath of knowledge about ALA and its divisions, and the integrity needed to steer the Association through a challenging time. Larry’s demeanor and experience make him the perfect person to support the next ALA Executive Director and restore member confidence in ALA’s finances.”
One of the greatest experiences of my career was contributing to the work the Public Library Association did with the Gates Foundation to secure a legacy grant to forward the work of public libraries. It was on a wall at the Foundation Headquarters in Seattle where I first saw the African proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” My extended library family has taken me on journeys farther than I could have ever imagined and I am forever grateful.
Their continued friendship and support through endorsing my new ALA journey is sincerely appreciated:
